Community Coordinator, Center for Health Justice

Craig Terry Jr is a community coordinator at the University of Pennsylvania’s Urban Health Lab within the Center for Health Justice, where he supports the implementation of community and place-based research studies. 

A committed activist, advocate, and artist, Craig has worked across Philadelphia and Montgomery County to challenge systemic racism in behavioral health care, the food economy, juvenile justice, and the arts. He has mentored youth in juvenile probation, served as a youth advisor for the Philadelphia Alliance for Child Trauma Services, and sits on the community advisory board for the Department of Public Health. 

Craig holds a bachelor’s in film/media studies and psychology from Bucknell University. He holds certifications in adult mental health first aid, psychological first aid, and reimagining research through pause and effect. Through documentary storytelling, community collaboration, and organizing, he is dedicated to amplifying the voices of marginalized Black communities and transforming systems of care in Philadelphia.
