Director of Health Equity, Center for Insights to Outcomes

Elissa Klinger serves as the director of health equity at the Center for Insights to Outcomes. In this role, she provides strategy and project leadership for Accelerate Health Equity (AHE). AHE is a collaborative effort led by the Center for Digital Health and the Center for Health Incentives and Behavioral Economics that seeks to improve health equity in the Philadelphia region. Elissa also manages Center for Digital Health operations and a portfolio of clinical care innovation projects funded by Independence Blue Cross.

Before joining the team, Elissa worked as a senior research project manager in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Primary Care at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, where she managed a portfolio of health services research trials that leveraged health information technology to promote risk assessment and prevention in primary care. Areas of focus included pharmacovigilance, cancer screening, and clinical decision-making. She was also the project manager for the Mass General Brigham Center for Drug Policy. Before working in U.S. health care, Elissa completed short-term consulting and research projects with international institutions, including the World Health Organization.

Elissa received her bachelor's degree in the growth and structure of cities from Bryn Mawr College and her master's degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health with a focus on population and international health.
