Lisa Bellini serves as executive vice dean for the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and senior vice president of academic affairs for Penn Medicine. She is also the executive sponsor of Penn Cobalt, the Penn Medicine platform supporting employee mental health and well-being.

With over 25 years at Penn, Lisa plays a crucial role in shaping the future of medical education and research. She oversees key academic areas, including faculty affairs, professional development, and graduate medical education. She prioritizes fostering a just and supportive work environment, emphasizing the importance of mental health for the workforce.

Lisa has held leadership roles in the Alliance of Academic Internal Medicine and served on key committees for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Her research focuses on medical education, specifically resident and faculty well-being, and the impact of fatigue on patient outcomes.

Lisa has won numerous awards including the Penn Pearls Teaching Award, the Maurice Attie and Donna McCurdy Teaching Awards, the Robert Dunning Dripps Award for Excellence in Graduate Medical Education, and the University-wide Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching.

She received her medical degree from the University of Alabama and completed her residency and fellowship at Penn, where she has remained a faculty member since 1996.
