Sunne Frankel

Sunne Frankel is a senior RN fellow at CHTI and the nurse manager of the resource pool, rapid response RN team, and peripherally inserted central catheter team at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC). She provides operational and clinical leadership across the hospital, supporting intensive care, medical-surgical, and procedural areas to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Sunne previously held leadership roles including assistant nurse manager of the resource pool and nursing administrative coordinator at PPMC, gaining extensive experience in hospital operations, staffing management, patient flow, bed management, and interdisciplinary collaboration. She has led workforce initiatives, developed operational processes, mentored clinical staff, and supported organizational goals focused on patient safety, quality outcomes, and exceptional patient experiences. Prior to her leadership roles, Sunne built a strong clinical foundation as a bedside RN at Pennsylvania Hospital, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Shore Memorial Hospital, and UCLA Medical Center. Sunne is dedicated to cultivating high-performing teams and advancing patient-centered care.

Sunne earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in nursing and health care administration, and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing.
