Yevgeniy (Eugene) Gitelman is the executive director of transformation platforms at University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS). Together with Lauren Hahn, he oversees CHTI’s Division of Care Delivery Augmentation. He is a hospitalist at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, the associate chief health information officer (CHIO) for custom solutions at UPHS, and an associate professor of medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine. 
 
Eugene is passionate about creating customized tools that empower clinicians to improve care delivery. He stewards CHTI’s portfolio of custom transformation products, ensuring they are focused on complex, cross-domain care delivery challenges where AI, data, and technology can be meaningfully applied to redesign workflows and enable new models of care. As associate CHIO, his work extends to implementing new technology, identifying opportunities for scaling custom solutions, and automating existing processes across the health system.
 
Eugene received his bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006, graduated AOA from Washington University in St. Louis in 2011, and completed his residency in internal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 2014. He joined CHTI in 2015.
